In reply to Debbie Fox. Hi Debbie, I think any of the books on this list would be great, but particularly Flight School or Sheila the Brave. I'm not particularly adept at coming up with activities that are book themed, but I imagine there may be some ideas on the internet. Maybe for Flight School designing a flight apparatus? Hi! Anna from the measured mom sent me to you. I have a rare disease and am leading a one day children’s class at a patient summit. The children will either have the disease or have siblings that have it. They will be ages 4 to 8. I would like to plan my day around a book. Do you have any suggestions for a book that deals with overcoming obstacles that would be suitable for a read aloud And other activities focused on the theme of the book for the rest of the day.

Wow! Great resource. I'm a mother of 3, a teacher (3rd grade) and an avid reader...and you managed to have multiple titles on this list that I have never read (as well as several I have read and enjoyed.) Thanks for the great list. I like Pete and Pickles by Berkeley Breathed as a story of friendship and courage. I'm excited to check out several of these titles.

I have been trying to find a picture book around in the sixties about taking a walk and discovering pattern and colour in everyday things it includes an illustration of a snail shell depicted in colour. Please help if you can. Thank you.
